This past weekend, Troye Sivan returned home to perform at the 2nd stop of the Live at Aloft Hotels Homecoming Tour with Aloft Hotels and Universal Music Group and Brands (UMGB), the brand strategy division of Universal Music Group (UMG), the world leader in music-based entertainment. This eight-city global tour is bringing some of the hottest names in music back to their hometowns for intimate live performances.
The ‘My My My!’ singer was excited to be back in his hometown to perform to an eager crowd of family, friends and fans on the rooftop of the Aloft Perth. From hits like ‘Bloom’ and ‘Youth’ to ‘1999’ the intimate 9-song set was full of enthusiasm and energy.
Prior to the evening performance, Troye participated in a Marriott Bonvoy Moment where fans were able to be a part of an exclusive sound check. Time was also set aside for attendees to take part in a Q&A, giving everyone in the room an opportunity to sit down with Troye for some one-on-one time.
The global eight-stop Homecoming Tour will feature performances from UMG artists at Aloft’s newest and most notable hotels located in some of the best music cities around the world, including NJOMZA at Aloft Chicago Mag Mile (US), Troye Sivan at Aloft Perth (Australia), Mala Rodriguez at Aloft Madrid Gran Vía (Spain) and Dermot Kennedy at Aloft Dublin City (Ireland).
Additional tour stops will include a performance by BANKS at a US Aloft property, as well as other artist performances in Dubai, Shanghai and South America in late 2019 or early 2020.
“Through this music platform, every week up-and-coming artists are playing intimate, no cover, open-to-the-public, sets for their local communities,” said Toni Stoeckl, global brand leader of Aloft Hotels and vice president of distinctive select brands for Marriott International.
“As a travel brand, we want to bring breakout musical talent closer to their greatest fans by bringing them back to their hometowns. For our Marriott Bonvoy members, the Live at Aloft Hotels Homecoming Tour is going to be particularly special with once-in-a-lifetime experiences available through Marriott Bonvoy Moments, where they can bid points to get up close and personal with the artists,” he added.
From knowing he would be Rachel if he was one of the cast members on Friends to his favorite track collaboration (Ariana Grande), the crowd had all of their burning questions truthfully answered by their hometown hero.
