Emirates Invests $6.2 Million on Bangkok Mega Lounge

Emirates has unveiled its new airport lounge at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport Satellite 1 Terminal (SAT-1), marking a US$6.2 million investment in the Thai capital. The 1,454 sqm facility is now the carrier’s largest lounge outside its Dubai hub.

Located on the fourth floor of the new terminal, the lounge can accommodate 250 guests and is designed to serve passengers from two A380 departures simultaneously. Features include shower facilities, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a selection of Thai and international cuisine.

The opening comes as Emirates celebrates 35 years of service to Thailand. The airline currently operates five daily flights between Dubai and Bangkok, alongside double daily services to Phuket and a daily non-stop route between Bangkok and Hong Kong. This makes Bangkok the airline’s second-largest destination for premium seat capacity.

First and Business Class passengers, along with eligible Skywards members, can access the lounge, which is situated a five-minute walk from the boarding gates. The facility is part of Emirates’ global network of 41 lounges, including seven at Dubai International Airport.

Emirates provides over 870 First and Business Class seats daily on its Bangkok routes. Premium passengers also receive complimentary chauffeur service within a 60-kilometre radius of Suvarnabhumi Airport, with additional charges of 35 baht (US$1) per kilometre beyond this range.

The lounge opening reflects Emirates’ position as the leading non-Thai carrier for premium travel to and from Bangkok, with the airline being among the first to relocate to the new SAT-1 Terminal.
