The opening of the Digital Transformation Expo (DTE) within the framework of the G20 at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, Sunday (13/11/2022) attracted the attention of many people with the appearance of a metaverse in the form of the MetaHuman Avatar of the Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G Plate in the background when the Minister of Communication and Information delivered his speech and marked the official opening DTE.
This MetaHuman guided the Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G Plate when he explained, among other things, that DTE, which was initiated by the Indonesian G20 Presidency, is a golden opportunity for Indonesia to share stories with the world about the nation’s various potentials and accelerating digital progress in various sectors, and will also be the last series of activities of the Digital Economy Working Group or the Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG).
The MetaHuman is being worked on by the members of Bahaso, an Indonesian education technology (edtech) startup, which was born in 2015, and is said to be currently preparing to innovate on web3. MetaHuman is interesting because usually it is still collaborated with overseas, but now Bahaso is doing it 100 percent domestically by the young generation of Indonesia.
When confirmed by journalists from Jakarta, Monday (14/11/2022), CEO of PT Bahaso Intermedia Cakrawala, Allana Abdullah confirmed that MetaHuman was created by Bahaso, who has been working closely with the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information.
“Thank you if this Avatar gets the attention of the invitees. We are indeed invited to participate in DTE-G20 activities, and at the same time prove that we have Metaverse expertise. Thank you to the Ministry of Communication and Information, which has been supporting us,” said Allana Abdullah.
Allana said, Bahaso in the future will not only be engaged in language learning but also as a professional training center using the latest technology such as Metaverse, Blockchain, and Artificial Intelligence called Bahaso Metaworld, to make it more interesting and more attractive.
“It’s true that we at Bahaso are moving to Web3 and being part of the evolution of the internet, and creating a more personal, more attractive digital ecosystem,” he said.
The opening of the DTE-G20 was attended by the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki and Chair of Commission I of the Indonesian Parliament Meutya Hafidz and partners from the Ministry of Communications and Informatics. This event took place from 13 to 17 November 2022, at Pecatu Hall, BNDCC, Nusa Dua, Bali. At DTE-G20 visitors can witness six areas that represent an overview of the issue of digital transformation as a priority issue for Indonesia’s G20 Presidency.
The Digital Transformation Expo built a collaboration wall displayed at the end of the exhibition. It recognizes the valuable contributions of G20 members, 39 of Indonesian ministries and agencies, as well as 42 industry representatives, together symbolizes the spirit of digital transformation in harmony.
