An exciting new dining destination has arrived in Uluwatu with the release of Le Club 22’s first menu. The casual seaside luxury space sits within the serially stylish Karma Beach on the Bukit Peninsula, a beach club famed for its drinking and dining options for all ages. Its latest innovation is Le Club 22, a secluded space with a focus on creative cocktails, and now, a menu that forms a celebration of seafood.
To accompany the bar’s innovative drinks, a unique mingling of Balinese ingredients and reputable European spirits, Le Club 22 has introduced a menu overflowing with European-inspired dishes. A salute to seafood near and far, expect to nibble on the likes of Japanese Sakoshi oysters on the half shell, dressed with red wine mignonette, fennel seed cocktail sauce and lemon, or langouste local rock lobster, topped with grilled tarragon butter.
Mains are also plentiful if you’re feeling hungry, ranging from the world-famed hamburg luxe, which is a wagyu patty with smoked gruyere, bacon shallot jam, bone marrow croquettes with wild arugula and a homemade purple mostarda. Or the whole barramundi, grilled over the barbecue and sprinkled with extra virgin olive oil, garlic, olives, capers, and tomato concasse.
Sweet tooths are in luck too, with Le Club 22 introducing a trio of desserts for guests. Including a traditional creme brulee with strawberries, and a decadent chocolate mousse with tonka bean and dark cookie crumble. All dishes are designed to be partnered with one of the venue’s bespoke cocktails, or specialty chilled wines.
Importantly, ingredients are sourced locally here, explains chef Joseph Antonishek, who dreamt up the seafood-inspired offering. He says, “we only use local suppliers with local ingredients, with the exception of our imported meats and wild salmon gravlax. This we cure with Ricard which is the key ingredient in our omelette, topped with house smoked salmon roe.”
