AC Hotels by Marriott Announces the Opening of Its First Hotel in Japan

AC Hotels by Marriott announced today the opening of the 296-room AC Hotel by Marriott Tokyo Ginza, marking the debut of this European design-driven brand in Japan. Located in Tokyo’s upscale Ginza district, the hotel’s modern glass and stone façade makes it a standout landmark in the heart of the capital’s exceptional shopping, culinary and fashion scene. This exciting new addition to the hospitality landscape in Tokyo features flexible spaces and carefully crafted signature experiences that intuitively anticipate guests’ needs for a seamless stay.

“We are thrilled to be bringing AC Hotels by Marriott to Ginza – one of Tokyo’s most esteemed neighbourhoods,” said Rajeev Menon, President, Asia Pacific (excluding China), Marriott International.

“This represents a milestone in the expansion of our European-inspired lifestyle hotel brand in this region, and further compliments Marriott International’s growing footprint in Japan,” he added.

Embracing the brand’s focus on an elegant and purposeful design, the AC Lobby welcomes guests with an art wall that symbolises the stunning lights of Ginza. Upon check-in, guests are presented with pâte de fruits served with either an aperitif or digestif providing a taste of European hospitality. Guest rooms are thoughtfully designed to maximize relaxation allowing travelers to use the space in whatever way they see fit. Each guest room features large windows that let in plenty of natural sunlight during the day, and stunning city views by night. Other features include a 55-inch flat-screen TV and complimentary Wi-Fi. Guests can pick up their own lavender sachet at the lobby to indulge in AC Hotel’s signature lavender turndown service, a thoughtful touch that prepares guests for complete relaxation at bedtime.

Guests can indulge in freshly baked croissants imported from France, sliced Prosciutto and delectable local breakfast in the AC Kitchen, a multi-functional space designed to look like a residential kitchen, adding to the hotel’s sense of a home away from home. AC Kitchen also serves lunch and dinner, with menus highlighting elements unique to Ginza. For guests who require a space to work away from the office, AC Lounge is an inviting co-working space by day which transforms into an urban bar at night. The bar serves the hotel’s signature Gin and Tonic as well as other expertly crafted cocktails, which are perfectly paired with innovative, Japanese-inspired tapas. For an out-of-the-ordinary experience, AC Lounge also features a unique Japanese sake cellar, where sake is stored at optimal temperature. Known for its intriguing bar rituals, guests can indulge in a timeless, Spanish tradition known as ‘Porron Pouring’ which is a shareable experience that captivates those gathered around the bar.

The hotel is also equipped with 592 square feet of meeting facilities. L’osier D’or is a multiple-use space for intimate social and business gatherings and features a roof terrace with spectacular views of the city. In addition, a dedicated 24-hour fitness center allows for guests to maintain their fitness routines while on the road.

“The opening of AC Hotel Tokyo Ginza affirms our commitment to meeting a growing demand from travellers seeking hotels with functional designs and intuitive service,” said Jennie Toh, Vice President, Brands, Asia Pacific, Marriott International.

“From signature spaces to refined food and beverage experiences, the new hotel is set to provide visitors with everything they want, and nothing they don’t,” she added.

“We are delighted to open AC Hotel by Marriott in in the bustling capital of Tokyo, offering our guests a hotel experience that allows them to be more productive, creative and fulfilled,” said Seishi Sasaki General Manager, AC Hotel by Marriott Tokyo Ginza.
