Welcoming CineCenter Kemang On the First of February 2020

On February 1st, CineCenter, a brand new film-house in Kemang area will open its door for the first time. CineCenter prides itself in showing quality films, from art-house films, commercial blockbusters, documentaries, shorts to classics.

CineCenter will open with 2 screens.

  • The ‘Studio’ room will be showing high-quality Indonesian films and also Indonesian classics.
  • The ‘Cinema’ room will focus on Internationally acclaimed titles and film festivals hits.

For CineCenter’s first program in February, In the ‘Studio’ room they will show ‘Kucumbu Tubuh Indahku’ from Garin Nugroho. The film won Best film at the Film Festival Indonesia and was selected as the Indonesian entry for the Foreign Language Oscar 2020. To further celebrate one of Indonesia’s best director, CineCenter will also show Garin Nugroho’s classic films for free every day at 12:00; ‘Cinta dalam Sepotong Roti’, ‘Daun di Atas Bantal’, ‘Opera Jawa’ and ‘Aach… Aku Jatuh Cinta’.

In the ‘Cinema-room’, since Valentine’s Day is approaching, CineCenter have chosen love as a theme. It has two classics ‘When Harry Met Sally’ and ‘Love Story’ and also the winner of the 2018 Academy Awards for Best Picture, ‘The Shape of Water’. Especially on this February, CineCenter will show you the film ‘Love Story’ for free.

In the near future CineCenter also want to show Indonesian Classics at the 12.00 slot, the free show. The Foundation, the IdFilmCenter Foundation, digitizes old Indonesian Classics and they restore one Indonesian film per year. Last year CineCenter restored ‘Aladin’ from 1953 and on its initiative ‘Tjoet Nja Dhien’ was restored by the Eye Film Museum in Amsterdam. The restored version of ‘Aladin’ was recently shown in the Classic section of the Busan Film Festival 2019.

CineCenter is open 7 days a week from the first show at 12:00 to 19:30. Travelers can come and see film for IDR30,000.

CineCenter is located on the 2nd floor of the historic Roosseno Plaza, Kemang. And the lounge now is open to the public and with a purchase of any food and beverage items you can use the Wi-fi for free.
