If you’ve departed from Singapore’s Changi Airport at some point, chances are you’ve seen the analogue flight information display boards. However, these displays – also known as Solari boards – will soon be removed. Starting February 2020, they will be replaced with electronic ones.
According to representatives from the Changi Airport Group, the displays are becoming increasingly challenging to maintain. A famous photo spot for flight passengers, these two displays have been at Terminal 2’s departure hall since 1999, and are the last of its kind left at the airport. All other three terminals have already been updated with electronic displays.
Visitors to the airport will only have till the end of January 2020 to have one last look at the iconic displays – and snap that final pre-flight shot. So hurry!
