Dubai Introduces the New Islamic Tourism Destination, Dubai Quranic Park

Dubai introduced the new Islamic tourism destination, Quranic Park, in the second quarter of 2019. This new addition to Dubai’s cultural attractions was developed to enable visitors to not only enjoy the attraction but also enrich their journey through cultural learnings. Recently, Dubai’s Quranic Park named one of the ‘World’s Greatest Places’ to visit by TIME Magazine.

The list consists of 100 renowned travel destinations across the globe divided into three sections, ‘To Visit’, ‘To Stay’, and ‘To Eat and Drink’, Dubai’s Quranic Park listed in the ‘To Visit’ list among other destinations, such as Mori Building Digital Art Museum in Tokyo, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland, California, Newseum in Washington, D. C, and many more.

The additional tourism destination is to accommodate Islamic tourism market which is currently on the rise. According to Global Muslim Travel Index (GMITI) the market is marked with stable growth and expected to reach US$220 billion by 2020 and even higher nearing US$300 billion by 2026.

Located in Al Khawaneej, the free-to-enter Quranic Park is designed to provide visitors with cultural and educational understanding of Islamic heritage, while still being a fun place for children and families to visit. The Quranic park is divided into two areas, The Glass House and The Cave of Miracles. The Glass House is home to 29 different plants and trees that are mentioned in the Quran, including olive and fig trees, henna and aloe vera plants, and many more. Meanwhile The Cave of Miracles brings various miracles from the Holy Quran to life.

The additional development is expected to strengthen Dubai’s position to lead in global halal tourism market. Previously, Dubai is ranked on top 10 Muslim Inbound Destinations – OIC countries, due to its commitment to promote cultural diversity. With this new attraction, Dubai aims to also provide visit destination to enrich their understanding about the religion and history as there is a growing demand from visitors on the emergence of educational destinations.
