A legendary hotel full of great history and fascinating stories, Caravelle Saigon sits in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, only minutes away from the city’s most popular places of attraction. In celebration of its 60th birthday this year, the critically-acclaimed WorldHotels affiliate property kick-starts festivities by unveiling its newly-renovated guest rooms and event spaces.
“A historical landmark on its own, Caravelle Saigon has been the epicenter of significant historic and cultural events over the past 60 years. Today, the hotel offers the same five-star experiences complemented by new rooms in the Opera Wing and top-grade function spaces for MICE groups,” said Roland Jegge, President of WorldHotels Asia-Pacific. “The renovation elevates Caravelle Saigon’s current offerings, augmenting it with new services and amenities that cater to the demands of today’s leisure and business travelers.”
Discover a World of Difference with Caravelle Saigon
Since May this year, Caravelle Saigon has been progressively reopening new rooms in its Opera Wing. Guest rooms start at approximately 34 sqm with spacious walk-in vanities and beautifully finished bathrooms with imported marble throughout. Large double-glazed, soundproof windows provide peace and quiet from the bustling city while offering guests stunning views of either the Opera House or the Saigon River. Each room comes equipped with modern amenities and newly-upgraded decor that stays true to the warm, comfortable ambience that Caravelle Saigon is renowned for.
The larger Signature Premium and Signature Studio rooms boast a larger floor area, couch and working space, perfect for longer business or leisure trips. Guests staying in the Signature rooms also receive access to the hotel’s Signature experiences, which includes perks such as drinks throughout the day and evening canapes served with Happy Hour cocktails.
Spaces for Meetings & Events of All Sizes and Scale
The full array of event spaces at Caravelle Saigon has also been fully upgraded with brand new lighting, state-of-the-art AV equipment supporting up to 4k and Ultra HD, live-streaming capabilities and eye-catching interiors. For large parties, the Caravelle Ballroom, a stunning 300sqm centerpiece space, can also be arranged into different configurations depending on occasion and cater up to 400 people. Overlooking the city’s historic Opera House, four smaller Opera Rooms have also been refurbished, complete with large floor-to-ceiling windows.
Sitting between the Caravelle Ballroom and Opera Rooms, the newly-updated Pre-Function Area (180sqm) substantially increases the combined floor space of the ballroom and event rooms. The Pre-Function Area also provides an elegant and convenient breakout space during conventions and other large functions for attendees to catch-up and network over canapés and drinks.
Newly Added Environmental Initiatives
In addition to being the first hotel in Vietnam to receive the EarthCheck Gold accolade, Caravelle Saigon further invests in environmental sustainability. The packaging of all bathroom amenities are made from biodegradable wheat husks; its shower amenities are from Appelles, a leading luxury brand, and come in refillable bottles – this reduces on the hotel’s plastic consumption by over 100,000 disposable bottles per year. All of the guest rooms, event spaces and public areas are installed with 100% LED lighting, and the double-glazed windows help to reduce on air-conditioning efforts. Of course, no plastic straws are being used when dining at Caravelle Saigon.
Caravelle Saigon is slated to open another 100 rooms in August, and is expected to complete its current renovation works by early 2020. As Vietnam celebrates Vu Lan Day (Wandering Soul’s Day) on 15th August, guests are able to enjoy offering a special vegetarian high tea with healthy smoothies and juices from 12th to 18th August at Café de l’Opera.
