New ‘M Passport’ Program Promises Enriching Travel Experience for Families

During the summer school holidays, Marriott Hotels & Resorts launches its ‘M Passport’ children’s program that offers inspiring activities and endless fun for families travelling with kids at 20 participating Marriott hotels and resorts across Asia-Pacific. With the M Passport program, kids are able to experience a wonderful range of activities that are not just enjoyable, but can also positively stimulate them physically, intellectually and emotionally.

The hotel activities and themed challenges keep kids engaged and inspired, while giving parents peace of mind that their children are enjoying themselves during their stay.

“In Asia Pacific, we recognize that there’s a growing trend in multi-generation family travel, especially to our Marriott hotels and resorts,” said Mike Fulkerson, Vice President, Brand & Marketing Asia Pacific, Marriott International.

“The M Passport program was created to provide a fun way for our young guests to learn new things, to express themselves, to make new friends during their stay and encourage family bonding. We look forward to welcoming families to Marriott Hotels & Resorts, and to being part of some of the most wonderful family holiday memories for years to come.”

The program is currently available at 20 Marriott hotels and resorts in Asia-Pacific, which include some of the most breathtaking destinations in the world. Young guests will be inspired by interactive M Passport activities that bring to life the local culture, from beachside resort destinations including Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay, Kota Kinabalu Marriott Hotel and Phuket Marriott Resort & Spa at Nai Yang Beach, to city holidays at Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, Hong Kong Ocean Park Marriott Hotel and Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Golden Bay. There are also brilliant options for family adventures to explore the ancient Thar Desert at Jaisalmer Marriott Resort & Spa, trek through the Borneo rainforest while staying within a national park at Mulu Marriott Resort & Spa, or hike the volcanic landscape at the UNESCO-protected Geopark nearby Jeju Shinhwa World Marriott Resort.

For children aged four to 12 checking in with parents at participating Marriott hotels and resorts, they will receive their very own ‘M Passport’ booklet and encouraged to complete a range of fun activities and challenges during their stay to collect achievement stamps in the booklet. Each achievement stamp entitles the child to a reward on the property. Marriott Hotels created the M Passport as a way for kids to participate in healthy activities during their stay through specially curated pursuits which provide three key benefits:

A brilliant body – playful activities which support strong physical growth and enhance motor skills, such as morning tai chi and a scavenger hunt that challenges young guests to solve clues as they race throughout the Hong Kong Ocean Park Marriott Hotel.

A brilliant mind – fun, involved activities which stimulate intellectual curiosity and creativity, such as the art of handicraft making, fish feeding and Fijian clay making presently available at the Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay.

A brilliant heart – pursuits which encourage positive social interactions and emotional well-being, such as an interactive Thai language classes, Thai costume and dance, and sunrise beach yoga held at Phuket Marriott Resort & Spa, Nai Yang Beach.

Marriott Hotels & Resorts warmly welcomes families with its own kid-friendly mascot, Owen the Owl, which was designed exclusively by Hong Kong children’s storybook illustrator Ethel Chow. Dressed in his aviator’s hat and goggles, Owen the Owl loves to explore the world and make new friends, making him the perfect travel companion and activity buddy for young guests holidaying with their families. Large and small Owen the Owl plush dolls are available for purchase at participating Marriott resorts and hotels.

As part of the M Passport program, a special M Passport Family Fun Package is now being offered at all participating Marriott Hotels in Asia Pacific. Families who stay two nights or more in a standard room or suite enjoy exclusive benefits, including an M Passport pack for children, kid-friendly in-room amenities such as children’s toothbrushes and bathrobes, guaranteed connecting rooms for larger family groups. Also as part of the package, kids under 12 eat for free (up to two children, ordering from the kids’ menu and accompanied by an adult dining on the regular menu).
