St. Regis Hotels and Resorts, part of Marriott International Inc., today announced the launch of a new collaboration with Papinee, the Storytelling company which educates, inspires and empowers children about the world they live in through its whimsical, colorful animal characters and storybooks in Asia Pacific.
The partnership with Papinee is part of the “Family Traditions at St. Regis” program, aimed at welcoming families with children to all St. Regis hotels and resorts. All St. Regis hotels provide families with amenities to ensure a comfortable, seamless stay, and the signature program offers engaging activities and experiences tailored to younger guests and their families. Each St. Regis hotel and resort offers distinctive destination highlights, and the Family Traditions program gives travelers of all ages the opportunity to explore their destination and celebrate the art of play together.
Papinee animals are brightly-colored, beautifully crafted heirloom plush toys designed to tell the story of the beauty and culture of different countries in the world. Each Papinee animal comes with a colorful, educational storybook and storytelling instructions that teaches both kids and adults about zoology, cultural geography, history and international diversity.
As part of the collaboration, Papinee has a created a new character exclusively for St. Regis Hotels in Asia-Pacific, called Jak. Jak is a charming red deer with bright eyes and a kind, friendly smile, and whose grandfather is said to have been friends with John Jacob Astor IV, the visionary New York businessman who founded the first St. Regis Hotel in New York in 1904. With his boundless curiosity inspired by the glamorous guests that have passed through his family headquarters, The St. Regis Hotel in Manhattan, Jak is now himself an intrepid world traveler.

As part of the collaboration, St. Regis Hotels and Resorts across the regions will offer programs and events featuring Jak, such as the Stay & Play with Jak room package, which includes a one-night stay in a Deluxe Room with complimentary breakfast for two adults and two children, with Jak-themed giveaways according to the children’s ages. Keepsake gifts include the choices of a Jak bandana, pouch or plush toy, a Jak Storytelling Kit as well as personalized message cards, name tags and badges. A Turndown Ritual at bedtime includes a Jak Cookie with milk for the kids.
A Gourmet Tour Sunday Brunch with Papinee offers a gastronomic experience for the whole family, featuring a Jak-themed kids’ menu, champagne and other beverages for adults and non-alcoholic champagne for younger guests, Instagrammable backdrops for photo ops featuring Jak, DIY Cookie Kits as well as balloons and party favors for kids.
Other special events featuring Jak include a Baby Shower package, which includes Jak-themed menus, a boy/girl reveal cake, balloons, Instagrammable backdrops for photo ops featuring Jak, e-invitation cards, gifts for the mother-to-be and baby, and St. Regis Butlers as Party Ambassadors. A Jak-themed Baby Full Moon Party marks baby’s first month in style at the Astor Ballroom or Function Room. The package features a choice of a Chinese or Western menu, red eggs imprinted with Jak and friends, a Jak-themed cake with 3D topper, cupcakes or cookies with Baby’s name, Instagrammable backdrops for photo ops, St. Regis Butlers as Party Ambassadors and other themed collaterals including balloons, party favors and activity books for guests and their children.
